Elyn is 2 1/2 months old

How can I describe this little piece of heaven that has come to our family. She is so special. She smiles and coos to everyone and is so content to be hang out wherever we are. She loves to lay on the floor and kick her dice. She loves to play in her bouncer. She loves the bumbo. She loves rides in the stroller. And she loves her daddy.
She also loves her bathtime already. She hears the water and starts to get excited. She has learned to kick her legs to get splashes. I see already how happy she gets when she accomplishes something she meant to do.

As I've tried to incorporate another child into the nighttime routine, my friend Amy suggested that I use Elyn as part of story time. It's become an instant success. Now when we tell our Princess and Guygo stories, Elyn is another character that is interactive. Whatever she does in the story, she does with her arms and legs on their bed. If she's running away from the witch, we make her little legs move as fast as they can go. The kids love it and actually want her to be there for storytime. Great idea Amy!
Joe blessed Elyn a few weeks ago and I was so grateful that he blessed her with the gift of Joy. It already describes her personality so well. This is an excerpt from her journal.

Today Daddy blessed you at church. You wore a beautiful dress that Grandma Penny gave to Alexa. You were happy and content. Daddy blessed you and uncle Ty, cousin Whitney, Alex, Brother Jon Kim, and our Bishop Steele Hendrix were all in the circle. Daddy said your name and then said something like this

“Elyn we bless you to find the gift of Joy, which will spring from your testimony of Jesus Christ. Serve others in times of difficulty and experience happiness. Develop habits and goals that will lead you closer to the Savior. Love education and seek learning. At a special time you will be married to someone who will bring you closer to the Savior. Your temple marriage will be a point of happiness in your life. Listen to your leaders and find joy in church service. Become devoted to the church and a student of the scriptures. Stay close to Rook and Alexa and work to create bonds of a strong family. Your family will be a source of strength to you in difficult times. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen."

I'm so glad she is easy and so so cute! Hopefully that will make your life a tiny little bit easier in the weeks to come!
