When we finished our backyard, we put in a sandbox for the kids. We thought they would just love it and spend hours in it. Well we were right. They love it...and love to bring sand inside, and throw it on each other and throw it all over the grass...no big deal. But lately they've been noticing cat poops in there...and that has put a damper on the fun.
We cleaned it really well and put a plastic cover on it for a week until my parents came down. My dad and Joe put a mesh covering over the bottom of our gate and that seemed to take care of the problem. Until we found a cat on the other side of our house just hanging out.We tried to catch in a box, but it got mad and forced its way under the mesh, bending it, to get in. Well then it couldn't get back out and was stuck there. We called animal control and they came and picked it up.
The kids loved seeing him do his work. He was really gentle with the cat and he gave them badge stickers. Well a few days later we saw tons of signs up for a lost cat and "reward". We called and told them we sent a cat to animal control for pooping and getting stuck in our backyard. She called and it was just minutes away from being put down. I guess they give pretty big tickets to people who let their animals out...so we haven't had any more problems. The fun goes on and on.

We had the same problem when we had our sandbox there. You are nicer than we are, we finally told the kids sorry but no more sandbox!
I saw those posters for a lost cat! Too funny ;) guess they called just in the nick of time! We've had a few cat problems ourselves, they like to hang out on Jared's car!
